Should I do SMP to myself?

NO.  :-)

Here is my response to a customer that was attempting to SMP on their own head, and having trouble with it staying:

For the record, I do not recommend anyone try to do scalp micropigmentation (at home) to themselves.  Everyone should work on clients with thinning hair at first, seeing how it heals checking in each week.  Do this for months or a year before attempting a completely bald head. Having worked on hundreds of scalps myself, I know that there are some clients whose skin is just very thin and prone to bleeding, which can make the pigment not stay because it is pushed out immediately.  For these situations, I do not use the SMP-1 needle, as it will carry less ink on it.  I instead switch to the SMP-3 needle that will carry more ink with each stroke.   If that is still not working, I would go a little bit slower; this will ensure the needle hits the skin more and therefor deposits more ink.  A last resort is to also go deeper.  These are decisions that someone working on your head will be able to make by looking closely at how each point appears on the scalp after putting the points on and closely watching how it heals after a week.  This is why it is important to have someone else, a professional, work on your head and not attempt it yourself.
